The Intensive General English curriculum is designed to help students improve their English language ability and develop the student’s confidence in using English for general purposes.

The core skills of reading, writing, speaking, listening and grammar are integrated into your course. A continuous weekly assessment model allows you to monitor your progress.

Students are required to be at least 17 years of age, to commence study in English Language programs at Sarina Russo Institute.

NOTE:

  • IELTS General Training will also be accepted for entry into SRI English courses.
  • Results more than two years old will not be accepted.
  • The SRI placement test will need to be undertaken.

CORE CLASS – 8:30 – 1:00pm (see timetable above)

  • Learn how English works
  • Core classes focus on: grammar, vocabulary and communication skills
  • You will have access to a huge amount of EXTRA online learning materials 24/7
  • We will measure and track what you CAN DO in class and online! Some examples of what you CAN DO:
    • Pre-Intermediate Students:
    • “I CAN explain my preferences”
    • “I CAN discuss how I fell”
    • “I can talk about a trip”
    • Intermediate Students:
    • “I CAN describe a film”
    • “I CAN make a short presentation”
    • “I CAN answer interview questions”

PLUS: Free support classes (1 hour)

  • Learn how to communicate in a variety of everyday work and social situations
  • Practice vocabulary and grammar learned in class with students from different levels
  • Monday to Friday
  • Length: 1 hour

Our approach to the Intensive General English curriculum’s design and delivery is to help students improve their English language ability. We recognise that all English language learners learn in different ways, progress at different rates and have different goals and we believe our curriculum, supported by optional free classes allows all students to meet their own individual language learning goals.
